Welcome to TheBadNewsB
the creative work of a radical independent artist, mother, and multi-passionate professional.
TheBadNewsB is a woman-owned brand that exists at the intersection of resistance and joy. BNB was built to amplify the values of feminism, LGBTQIA+ pride, science, democracy, and social justice. Every design is sketched then digitally drawn with intention, and released into the world with hope.
I'm an indie artist, project manager, hiker, kayaktivist, knowledge fangirl, and excessive reader, mindfully navigating apocalyptic times with creativity, compassion, and clarity.
My experience is in medical, academic, media content, and many more settings since graduating. Most recently I am running this small business independently while working as a graphic designer and project manager. I spend some of my time with my family volunteering with my local Girl Scouts council to empower the next generation of girls to have a sense of confidence, curiosity, and compassion for themselves, each other, and the world around them.
Having daughters, being raised by strong women, loving science and reading, being saved twice from maternal death by incredible doctors and nurses, and simply caring deeply about justice and empathy has motivated me to create art that speaks to me. And most of the time I make things I want to wear or rock myself. While my art began as an outlet for my frstrations with the state of the world, over time, it’s grown into a platform to stand alongside and support marginalized and oppressed communities.
The goal is to build a creative community rooted in kindness where all people are treated as human beings given the rights and compassion that we were taught as children.
Whether you're here for art that protests, inspires, educates, or comforts, thank you for being part of this artistic movement.
This business shares art for the wildly kind and deeply hopeful. 💋
Many of my designs are available in my shop, custom orders are available when the season and time allows, and I’m open for project management collaborations. Shop now or contact me.
